The fundamentals of internal auditing remain familiar, but the criteria being audited have changed. The new edition places stronger emphasis on leadership, quality culture and ethical behaviour, provides clearer treatment of risks and opportunities, and adds revised Annex A guidance. Internal auditors therefore need to update what they test\u2014not simply continue using an old 2015 checklist.<\/p>\n<p>For an existing QMS, the auditor\u2019s job is to understand the relevant changes, update audit criteria and evidence trails, and identify whether revised arrangements work in practice.
