What Is Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Training?

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training teaches professionals how to improve a defined process using structured problem-solving, evidence and the DMAIC method. Lean helps remove delay and non-value-adding work; Six Sigma helps understand variation, defects and process performance.

MeasureEstablish the facts
AnalyseValidate root causes

What a Green Belt actually does

A Green Belt can lead a scoped improvement project, work with process owners and specialists, interpret appropriate data and help a team convert analysis into a controlled operational improvement.

Why Choose EduDelphi for Green Belt Training?

Live practitioner teaching

Learn the judgement behind each tool, not only its definition or formula.

Complete project simulation

Work from problem definition and baseline evidence through improvement and control.

Serious exam practice

Use 3,000+ questions, multiple timed mocks and full simulator assessments.

Practical Minitab learning

Follow guided demonstrations and exercises for appropriate statistical analysis.

Direct faculty support

Ask technical questions, review errors and obtain guidance on weaker areas.

Flexible UK delivery

Study in London, live online, self-paced, one-to-one or through a private corporate cohort.

What You Will Be Able to Do

The course is designed around the decisions a Green Belt makes during a real improvement project.

  • Write a measurable problem statement, goal and project charter.
  • Translate customer needs into useful Critical-to-Quality measures.
  • Map a process and plan proportionate data collection.
  • Assess baseline performance and interpret process capability.
  • Separate symptoms, assumptions and validated root causes.
  • Select, prioritise and pilot practical improvements.
  • Use FMEA, controls and response plans to sustain change.
  • Communicate evidence and benefits to sponsors and stakeholders.
Not only tool knowledge

Decision-making from data

Green Belt work is not a checklist of charts. You need to recognise what the problem requires, select a proportionate method, interpret the evidence correctly and avoid making a conclusion the data does not support.

That practical judgement runs through the teaching, cases, question reviews and project simulation.

Who Should Take the Green Belt Course?

Green Belt is suitable for professionals who improve processes, manage operational performance or contribute to business transformation.

Quality and improvement

Quality, continuous-improvement, operational-excellence and process professionals.

Operations and engineering

Manufacturing, engineering, production, maintenance and service-operations professionals.

Supply chain

Planning, procurement, logistics, inventory, warehousing and fulfilment teams.

Services and technology

Banking, insurance, technology, shared-services and customer-operations teams.

Healthcare and public service

NHS, healthcare, life-sciences, public-sector and government-supplier professionals.

Projects and transformation

Project managers, change professionals, analysts, consultants and team leaders.

Do I need Yellow Belt first?

No formal Yellow Belt prerequisite is required for EduDelphi’s Green Belt course. The course establishes the necessary Lean Six Sigma foundations before moving into Green Belt application.

Choose the Green Belt Route That Fits You

See How We Teach a Green Belt Decision

Original EduDelphi learning scenario

A service team has reduced average handling time, but customer rework has increased and total lead time has not improved. The sponsor proposes adding staff. What should the Green Belt do first?

A. Add staff immediately to reduce the queue.
B. Analyse rework causes and end-to-end flow before selecting a solution.
C. Set a lower handling-time target for every team member.
D. Move directly to a Control Plan for the new target.

What is being tested?

Diagnosis before solution selection and the difference between a local metric and end-to-end performance.

Why B is strongest

Rework may be offsetting the handling-time improvement. The Green Belt should validate the constraint and root cause first.

Why the others are weaker

A and C prescribe changes without evidence. D attempts to control a solution that has not been validated.

This is an original EduDelphi teaching scenario. It is not an official, live or recalled certification examination question.

Green Belt LMS, Practice Questions & Mock Exams

The learning system supports class preparation, structured practice, revision and examination readiness.

Recordings and LMS

Return to lessons, supporting notes, mind maps and revision assets.

3,000+ questions

Practise and revise by topic, tool and DMAIC stage.

Mocks and simulator

Use multiple timed tests and full exam-simulator mocks.

Faculty support

Review technical questions, mistakes and weaker areas with guidance.

Readiness assessment is optional

Learners may use the available tests and faculty feedback to assess readiness without making a separate final assessment compulsory for every EduDelphi preparation route.

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt FAQs

What is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt?

A Green Belt is a professional who can use the DMAIC method and appropriate Lean Six Sigma tools to lead a scoped process-improvement project or support a more complex programme.

Is Lean Six Sigma different from Six Sigma?

Lean focuses strongly on flow, customer value and removing non-value-adding work. Six Sigma focuses strongly on defects, variation and evidence from process data. Modern Green Belt courses commonly combine both.

How long is the EduDelphi Green Belt course?

The standard live course includes 40 guided hours. It can be delivered as a five-day intensive or through an equivalent flexible schedule, including evening and weekend options.
