What is CSCP certification and who issues it?
CSCP stands for Certified Supply Chain Professional. It is a professional certification managed by the Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) and covers end-to-end supply-chain decisions across demand, networks, sourcing, operations, inventory, logistics, relationships, risk and improvement.
APICS remains closely associated with the certification and is still widely used in searches such as “APICS CSCP.” ASCM controls the official examination and credential. EduDelphi provides CSCP examination preparation, live teaching and learner support.
ASCM manages the certification. Pearson VUE delivers the examination. EduDelphi provides the preparation course.
For a broader credential overview, read our complete guide to CSCP certification.
Choose CSCP when your work connects several parts of the supply chain
CSCP is particularly useful when you need an end-to-end view rather than depth in only one narrow function.
Supply chain and operations
Professionals responsible for cross-functional performance, operating flow and customer outcomes.
Demand and supply planning
Planners and S&OP professionals building broader capability across sourcing, operations and logistics.
Procurement and sourcing
Professionals moving beyond supplier selection into wider network, inventory and customer decisions.
Inventory and manufacturing
Teams balancing capacity, materials, availability, working capital and service levels.
Logistics and distribution
Professionals expanding from transportation or distribution into end-to-end supply-chain leadership.
Transformation and consulting
ERP, analytics and process professionals who need a connected supply-chain framework.
Why take live CSCP training instead of studying alone?
Self-study can work for highly independent learners. Live preparation is useful when you want structure, explanation, accountability and help connecting concepts across the content areas.
| Independent self-study | EduDelphi guided preparation |
|---|---|
| You interpret the syllabus and reading independently. | Live teaching explains concepts, terminology and relationships across the content areas. |
| You create and maintain your own timetable. | An 8–12-week route gives preparation a practical sequence. |
| You review questions without a live debrief. | Question discussions help explain why alternatives are stronger or weaker. |
| You identify weak areas alone. | Practice, mocks and trainer feedback support more focused revision. |
| You rely on personal momentum. | Scheduled classes, recordings and LMS access create continuity. |
Eight CSCP Exam Content Areas & Current Weightings
The course follows the current CSCP Exam Content Manual. These content areas and approximate weights show how the examination distributes attention across end-to-end supply chain management.

You do not need a prescribed degree or work-experience period to take CSCP
There is currently no formal degree or work-experience prerequisite for the CSCP examination. ASCM also does not require membership to pursue the certification. Candidates need an ASCM account and ID to use the certification process; membership is optional and mainly affects pricing and member benefits.
ASCM eliminated the older CSCP eligibility application requirement. That does not mean the exam is easy: professionals with limited exposure to planning, sourcing, inventory or logistics may need additional preparation time to connect unfamiliar content areas.
Read the current ASCM certification FAQ and our complete CSCP eligibility requirements guide before planning your attempt.
Ignore pages repeating the old eligibility gate
Some older provider pages still mention previous education and experience requirements. Follow current ASCM rules and your live candidate instructions.
What Do You Actually Need to Earn CSCP?
EduDelphi preparation and the official ASCM certification process are separate. This makes the buying path easier to understand before you decide how to prepare.
| Item | Required? | Paid to |
|---|---|---|
| EduDelphi CSCP preparation Live teaching, LMS, practice, mocks and support |
Optional preparation route | EduDelphi |
| Official CSCP examination | Yes | ASCM |
| ASCM membership | No | ASCM |
| ASCM Learning System | No formal eligibility requirement; optional official preparation product | ASCM |
| ASCM CSCP bundle | Optional official purchase route | ASCM |
| Certification maintenance after passing | Yes, to maintain the credential | ASCM process |
To earn CSCP, however, you must pass the official ASCM examination. ASCM membership is optional. See the current CSCP exam fees and official-cost guide for official price context.
CSCP holders complete certification maintenance every five years. The current ASCM requirement is 75 professional-development maintenance points during each five-year cycle.
Plan around 8–12 weeks for CSCP preparation
ASCM recommends roughly 100 hours of study on average for a certification exam. For many working professionals, an 8–12-week CSCP plan is therefore a practical target when they can sustain regular study each week. EduDelphi provides 40+ guided live hours; the rest should include revision, practice questions and mock exams.
Weeks 1–4: Learn the syllabus
Complete the core teaching and build a connected understanding of demand, networks, sourcing, operations, inventory and logistics. Do not chase question volume before the foundation is clear.
Weeks 5–8: Practise by content area
Increase question practice, review every incorrect answer and return to weaker content areas until performance becomes more consistent.
Weeks 9–12: Use mocks and final revision
Complete timed mocks, revisit weak areas and practise the pace and judgement required for the official 3.5-hour exam.
Your trainer can help shape the same phases around your current knowledge, work schedule and target date.

CSCP course and exam questions
What is CSCP certification?
CSCP is the Certified Supply Chain Professional certification managed by ASCM. It covers eight connected areas of end-to-end supply-chain management, including demand, networks, sourcing, internal operations, logistics, relationships, risk and optimization.
Is CSCP issued by APICS or ASCM?
ASCM manages the current certification. APICS remains the certification and learning brand associated with credentials such as CSCP, which is why both “APICS CSCP” and “ASCM CSCP” remain common terms.
Are there formal CSCP eligibility requirements?
No. ASCM does not currently require a prescribed degree, work-experience period or previous APICS credential before sitting the exam. Candidates need an ASCM account and ID; membership is optional and mainly affects pricing and member benefits.
How many questions are on the CSCP exam?
The current examination contains 150 multiple-choice questions. ASCM identifies 130 as operational scored questions and 20 as unscored pretest questions distributed through the exam.
How long is the CSCP exam and what score is required?
Candidates receive 3.5 hours. ASCM uses a scaled score from 200 to 350; a score of 300 or higher passes. The 300 benchmark is a scaled score, not a percentage or a published raw-question target.
What is the CSCP exam pass rate?
ASCM does not publish an official overall CSCP pass-rate percentage in its current public exam information. Be cautious with provider claims about a global or first-attempt pass rate unless the methodology and source are disclosed. The official benchmark is a scaled score of 300 or higher on ASCM’s 200–350 scale.
Can I take the CSCP exam online in the United States?
The current delivery framework includes Pearson VUE test centers and the OnVUE online-proctored route. Check live availability, equipment rules and candidate instructions before scheduling.
How long does the EduDelphi CSCP course take?
The usual EduDelphi preparation route runs for approximately 8–12 weeks. A more flexible or compressed plan may be available depending on your background, target date and current batch options.
How much does EduDelphi CSCP preparation cost?
EduDelphi CSCP preparation packages start from $500. The recommended package depends on the support, schedule and delivery route selected. Official certification-body purchases are confirmed separately during consultation.
Are CSCP class recordings included?
Yes. Live-session recordings are made available through the EduDelphi LMS so learners can revisit explanations and continue revision around their work schedules.
How many practice questions are included?
The EduDelphi CSCP preparation system includes 3,000+ practice questions together with topic practice, mock examinations and guided review.
Are evening and weekend batches available?
Yes. Evening and weekend options are available, with scheduling support across Eastern, Central, Mountain and Pacific time. Ask for the current cohort timetable.
How long is CSCP valid?
CSCP holders must complete certification maintenance every five years. The current ASCM requirement is 75 professional-development maintenance points during each five-year cycle.
Is CSCP better than CPIM or CLTD?
Not universally. CSCP is the broad end-to-end option. CPIM provides greater concentration on internal planning and inventory, while CLTD focuses on logistics, transportation and distribution.
Does EduDelphi provide corporate CSCP training?
Yes. Employers can request private cohorts, multi-location scheduling, live virtual delivery, arranged onsite training, employer invoicing and purchase-order support.
Does CSCP guarantee a job or salary increase?
No. A certification can strengthen professional knowledge and demonstrate structured development, but employment and compensation depend on experience, role, industry, location and employer requirements.
