What Is AI for Finance Training?
AI for Finance training teaches finance professionals how to use artificial intelligence for analysis, forecasting, cash-flow planning, reporting and selected review tasks. The goal is better work with clear evidence, not handing financial decisions to a chatbot.
Our course combines practical finance knowledge, Excel and Power Query with approved AI tools. You learn to prepare data, ask useful questions, check the numbers and explain the result to a manager.
From raw data to a checked finance report
Work through one connected business case. Clean a dataset, analyse budget variances, build scenarios, review cash flow and prepare a management pack.
Finish with a reviewed project and a practical plan for applying what you learned at work.

AI and Excel Tools Used in the Course
We teach finance outcomes, not a long list of software logos. Excel, Power Query and one approved AI environment form the core practice route.
Microsoft ExcelCore hands-on
Analysis, formulas, scenario work and reporting.
ChatGPT / approved GenAICore hands-on
Source-based questions, commentary, summaries and verification.
Microsoft CopilotGuided workflows
Microsoft workplace and finance examples, with capability checks.
Microsoft Power BIDemonstrated
One reporting demonstration, not a full Power BI qualification.
Power Query: Core hands-on data preparation and refresh. Automation: One controlled demonstration. Corporate ERP/EPM: Company-specific context and process mapping, not a promise of automatic production integration.
Selected alternatives such as Claude, Gemini or NotebookLM may be shown where they serve the task. Tool capabilities and availability change; the training uses an appropriate current environment. Microsoft Finance Agent, where demonstrated, is preview-dependent rather than a guaranteed core feature.

Finance AI Example: Check the Answer Before Reporting It
A business has an operating-cost budget of OMR 50,000. Actual costs are OMR 54,000. An AI draft calls the difference “8% favourable”. Should you use it?
| Check | Worked answer |
|---|---|
| Amount | 54,000 − 50,000 = OMR 4,000 above budget. |
| Percentage | 4,000 ÷ 50,000 × 100 = 8% above budget. |
| Interpretation | For this cost line, the variance is adverse, not favourable. |
| Safe commentary | Operating costs exceeded budget by OMR 4,000, or 8%. Check supporting records before attributing the increase to a specific cause. |
What you learn: Confirm the formula, sign convention, source and business meaning. A fluent AI answer can still be wrong. Here the convention is actual minus budget; organisations may use a different reporting convention.

Use Finance AI Without Losing Control of Your Data
Check before uploading
Identify personal, confidential and commercially sensitive information. Use your organisation’s approved tools and permitted data. Work with sanitised examples during training.
Oman’s personal-data requirements and your company’s policies are relevant to tool selection and handling. A course does not replace legal advice or your organisation’s approval process.
Check before using the result
Keep source records, test calculations, review assumptions and record approval. AI can assist preparation; people remain responsible for the final finance output.
Do not treat a chatbot answer as an approved journal, a verified forecast or a decision to release a payment.
Learning Resources and Support
Learn and revisit
Live guided teaching, recordings and LMS resources help you review a demonstration and practise again around your work schedule.
Keep useful files
Editable workbooks, solution examples, finance prompts, validation checklists and reporting templates give you a reusable starting point.
Get feedback
A reviewed project, direct learning support and two follow-up clinics help you improve the work rather than simply finish the videos.

AI for Finance Course FAQs
What is the AI for Finance course in Oman?
It is a practical 24-guided-hour course for finance professionals and teams. You use Excel, Power Query and approved AI tools for financial analysis, forecasting, cash flow and reporting, then complete a reviewed project.
Do I need coding or previous AI experience?
No coding or previous AI experience is required. Basic finance knowledge and everyday Excel use are helpful. Optional Excel foundations support is available without a mandatory entry test.
Can I upload company financial data to an AI tool?
Not automatically. Permission depends on data classification, personal or confidential information, your organisation’s approved technology environment, contractual safeguards and applicable Oman requirements. The course teaches approved environments, sanitised training data and a review-before-upload process rather than treating a public AI tool as the default destination for company information.
How long is the course?
The course includes 24 guided hours, including the reviewed project. Typical routes are four six-hour sessions or eight three-hour sessions. Two follow-up clinics are additional to the guided course; corporate schedules can be adapted.
Is Arabic training available?
Yes. English, Arabic and bilingual delivery are available. The programme can include a bilingual finance reporting exercise while keeping figures, assumptions and review responsibilities consistent.
Can my finance team receive customised training?
Yes. Corporate AI for Finance training includes selected workbook review, approved-tool alignment, sanitised company exercises, role-based practice and two follow-up clinics. Wider customisation can cover reporting formats, company processes and ERP/EPM context.
Does the course cover accounting and financial modelling?
It covers selected finance analysis, forecasting, cash-flow and reconciliation-review tasks. It is not a full accounting qualification or an advanced financial-modelling programme. The emphasis is using AI to assist finance work while checking the result.
Is this the same as the Microsoft Copilot course?
No. Microsoft 365 Copilot focuses on workplace productivity across Microsoft apps. AI for Finance focuses on finance decisions and outputs, using Excel, Power Query and an appropriate AI environment. Copilot is a guided route, not the entire syllabus.
Are software subscriptions and vendor certifications included?
The course provides guided practical training and an EduDelphi completion certificate. Your written quotation confirms the learning environment and any software costs. Microsoft certification exams and vendor credentials are separate, not implied by attendance.
Can AI replace finance approval or post entries automatically?
AI can assist drafting and reviewing information, but it does not replace financial accountability. Our controlled workflow keeps validation, exceptions, human approval and evidence explicit. Production ERP posting is not a standard-course promise.
Is training available outside Muscat?
Yes. Classroom, live-online, private and corporate onsite delivery are available across Oman, including Sohar and Salalah. Request the current location, venue and schedule for your chosen route.
What support do I receive after training?
The standard package includes LMS resources, recordings, editable practice files, direct learning support, a reviewed project and two follow-up clinics to help you apply the course at work.
