CIA Challenge Exam

CIA Challenge Exam for Eligible Professionals in Oman

Eligible holders of certain approved accounting credentials and active CISA professionals may qualify for a one-part CIA Challenge Exam route, subject to The IIA’s current eligibility requirements.

CPA, CA and CISA routes

The IIA provides separate Challenge Exam pathways for approved accounting credentials and active CISA holders, subject to current eligibility and good-standing rules.

EduDelphi can provide a dedicated Challenge Exam preparation route as a separate product.

What happens after you apply?

  1. The IIA reviews eligibility.
  2. Approved candidates register for the applicable exam.
  3. You complete focused one-part preparation.
  4. The IIA issues the applicable credential after all requirements are met.
Challenge Exam pathways can change: The IIA currently provides specific CIA Challenge Exam routes for certain eligible professional credentials, including approved accounting qualifications and active CISA holders. Eligibility, application windows, examination availability and approved credentials are controlled by The IIA and may change. EduDelphi can help you identify the route that applies to your background before you begin preparation.

Work Through a CIA Exam Scenario

Original EduDelphi practice scenario

An internal auditor finds that a key control is well designed but has not operated for two months because the control owner changed roles. What should the auditor do first?

A. Recommend immediate disciplinary action.
B. Confirm the facts, assess the resulting risk and discuss the control failure with responsible management.
C. Remove the control from the audit scope.
D. Issue the final report without further discussion.

Why B is strongest: it follows evidence, risk assessment and appropriate communication before the auditor reaches or reports a final conclusion.

This is an original EduDelphi learning scenario. It is not an official, recalled or live IIA exam question.
