What Is CSCP Certification and Who Issues It?
CSCP stands for Certified Supply Chain Professional. It is ASCM’s broad end-to-end supply-chain certification, covering the connected decisions that move products, services, information and value across suppliers, operations, logistics partners and customers.
Many professionals still search for “APICS CSCP” because APICS is the credential’s established certification brand. ASCM—the Association for Supply Chain Management—administers the current certification and examination.
ASCM
Controls the CSCP certification, official policies, examination and maintenance requirements.
CSCP
The professional credential candidates earn after meeting ASCM’s current examination requirements.
EduDelphi
Provides independent live preparation, resources, practice, mocks and learner support.

Who Should Take CSCP in Australia?
CSCP is best suited to professionals who need to understand the wider supply chain rather than only one local process or functional specialism.
Supply-chain managers
Build a connected view of strategy, networks, relationships, risk and performance.
Demand and supply planners
Connect forecasting and planning decisions to sourcing, inventory, logistics and service.
Procurement professionals
Understand how supplier decisions affect the full operating and customer-value chain.
Inventory and logistics teams
Place warehousing, transport, returns and stock decisions inside a broader network.
Operations professionals
Strengthen cross-functional understanding beyond internal execution.
Consultants and transformation teams
Use a common framework for diagnosing end-to-end supply-chain performance.
Career movers
Build structured knowledge while developing the experience employers still expect.
Corporate cohorts
Create shared language across planning, procurement, logistics and operations teams.
CSCP Eligibility and Readiness Requirements
ASCM currently publishes no formal degree or work-experience prerequisite for the CSCP certification. Older pages may still repeat a previous eligibility model requiring a degree, experience or another credential; candidates should follow the current ASCM policy instead.
No formal gate does not mean the exam is basic. Learners benefit from familiarity with supply-chain terminology, business processes and quantitative trade-offs. Professionals with experience may recognise the contexts more quickly, while newer learners may need additional foundation and revision time.
- You can begin preparation without waiting for a degree or a specific number of years.
- Your study plan should reflect your experience across the eight modules.
- ASCM controls the final registration and examination policies.

CSCP Syllabus: Eight Current Exam Modules
The course follows the current ASCM CSCP content structure. Each module is taught for both technical understanding and its relationship with end-to-end supply-chain decisions.
Module 1: Supply Chains, Demand Management & Forecasting
Understand supply-chain strategy, customer and market requirements, demand management, forecasting methods, performance considerations and the flow of products, services, information and funds.
Module 2: Global Supply Chain Networks
Examine global network configuration, facilities, capacity, distribution choices, trade-offs, resilience and the operating implications of serving markets across regions.
Module 3: Sourcing Products & Services
Cover sourcing strategy, make-or-buy thinking, supplier selection, segmentation, relationships, total cost, contracts, performance and responsible sourcing considerations.
Module 4: Internal Operations & Inventory
Connect internal operations, capacity, planning, inventory types, replenishment, financial effects, continuous improvement and the decisions required to balance service and working capital.
Module 5: Forward & Reverse Logistics
Explore transport, warehousing, distribution, order fulfilment, international logistics, reverse flows and the cost, service and sustainability trade-offs inside logistics design.
Module 6: Supply Chain Relationships
Develop relationship strategy across customers, suppliers and partners, including segmentation, communication, collaboration, governance, measures and conflict resolution.
Module 7: Supply Chain Risk
Identify and assess risks, prioritise responses, build resilience, support continuity and consider how visibility, cybersecurity, compliance and supplier dependencies affect exposure.
Module 8: Optimisation, Sustainability & Technology
Connect continuous improvement, sustainability, change, analytics and emerging technologies to supply-chain strategy and measurable operating performance.

Implementation Case: A Multi-State Australian Distributor
An Australian consumer-products distributor serves customers across New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia. Key products are imported, lead times fluctuate, excess stock sits in some locations and other locations lose service levels.
Learners work through the case in stages:
- Review demand patterns and forecast assumptions.
- Evaluate inventory positioning across the network.
- Segment suppliers and identify sourcing risk.
- Compare inbound and domestic logistics choices.
- Balance safety stock, cost and customer service.
- Build a disruption response and continuity priorities.
- Select meaningful supply-chain performance measures.
- Identify sustainability and technology opportunities.
This is the style of integrated work used in the course: decisions are evaluated across the whole chain rather than answered as isolated definitions.
CSCP Exam Format, Pass Score & Testing in Australia
The CSCP examination is delivered through Pearson VUE under ASCM’s current examination policies. Candidates should confirm the latest appointment and online-testing rules before scheduling.
How scoring works
ASCM reports scores on a 200–350 scale, with 300 or higher treated as passing. The 20 pretest questions are not scored, but candidates cannot identify them and should answer every question.
How Australian candidates test
Current Pearson VUE arrangements include authorised test centres and eligible OnVUE online appointments, subject to live availability, technical requirements and ASCM policies.

Recommended CSCP Study Plan
Your total preparation time should reflect your experience and available weekly study hours. We recommend using four clear phases instead of rushing from reading directly into full mocks.
Learn the modules
Follow live teaching and use the included books, study guides, recordings and revision resources to build the complete framework.
Practise by module
Work through questions topic by topic, review every incorrect answer and return to weaker concepts.
Integrate decisions
Combine forecasting, sourcing, inventory, operations, logistics and risk through cross-module scenarios.
Complete timed mocks
Use final revision for pacing, weak-area improvement and exam-style decision making.
How to Become CSCP Certified
Completing a preparation course is not the same as earning the CSCP credential. ASCM awards the certification after the current official requirements are met.
Prepare
Build knowledge, practise questions and complete mocks.
Purchase
Select and buy the appropriate official route from ASCM.
Test
Schedule under current Pearson VUE arrangements and pass the exam.
Maintain
ASCM currently requires 75 maintenance points every five years.
Is CSCP Worth It for Australian Supply-Chain Professionals?
CSCP can be worthwhile when your work requires broad end-to-end supply-chain understanding or when you want a structured international credential to complement relevant experience. Its usefulness depends on your role, career direction, employer and ability to apply the knowledge.
Employer evidence
Selected Australian supply-chain vacancies explicitly describe APICS, CPIM, CSCP, CIPS or equivalent professional credentials as highly regarded. These credentials are not mandatory for every role.
Workforce context
Jobs and Skills Australia currently profiles approximately 30,100 Supply and Distribution Managers, with the largest shares in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland. Treat this as workforce context, not a live vacancy count.
Salary research
ASCM’s 2026 global research reports a median salary premium for certification holders. It is association research, not an Australian salary guarantee or a promise of promotion.
