CIA Course Singapore: Programme at a Glance
Prepare for the Certified Internal Auditor qualification through Singapore classroom or live online teaching. Choose the complete three-part programme, one CIA part, private tuition, self-study or a corporate route.
What is the CIA certification?
The Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) is The Institute of Internal Auditors’ global professional certification for internal audit. EduDelphi provides exam preparation as an official IIA Learning Partner. The IIA controls eligibility, exams, certification and maintenance.
CIA is a professional internal-audit credential. It is not a one-day ISO internal-auditor course or a Singapore regulatory licence.
Why Prepare for CIA with EduDelphi in Singapore?
The course brings teaching, practice, feedback and revision into one clear plan. You are not left to assemble the programme from unrelated videos and question banks.
Official IIA Learning Partner
Prepare with a provider that understands the official CIA pathway while keeping EduDelphi training clearly separate from The IIA’s certification decisions.
Experienced CIA trainers
Learn with Tanvi P. and Shyam Sarrof. Their teaching connects the syllabus with audit evidence, risk, controls, findings and professional judgement.
Current syllabus teaching
Classes, notes, questions and mocks are mapped to the 2025 CIA syllabus used by English-language candidates in Singapore.
Strong LMS and resources
Use recordings, notes, mind maps, infographics, flashcards, study planners, practice sets, diagnostics and an AI study assistant in one place.
Mocks and personal feedback
Move from topic practice to timed mocks, then review weak domains, close answer choices and the reasoning behind the correct response.
Live doubt-clearing
Ask questions during classes and dedicated support sessions. Get help with difficult topics, practice questions and your revision plan.
Live CIA Teaching, Study Resources, Practice and Support
Each CIA part follows a simple cycle: learn the topic, practise questions, review mistakes, complete mocks and revise weak areas.

- Recordings of live classes for revision
- Current-syllabus notes, mind maps, infographics and flashcards
- 5,000+ practice resources across all three parts

- Diagnostic tests and weak-area analysis

CIA Syllabus 2026: Parts, Domains and Exam Weightings
The syllabus is called the 2025 CIA syllabus because that is when it became effective; it remains the current English-language syllabus in 2026. It is aligned with the Global Internal Audit Standards. The table below shows the current three-part structure used in Singapore.
| CIA part | Questions | Time | Domains |
|---|---|---|---|
| Part 1: Internal Audit Fundamentals | 125 | 150 minutes | Foundations 35% · Ethics 20% · Governance, Risk & Control 30% · Fraud Risks 15% |
| Part 2: Internal Audit Engagement | 100 | 120 minutes | Engagement Planning 50% · Information Gathering, Analysis & Evaluation 40% · Supervision & Communication 10% |
| Part 3: Internal Audit Function | 100 | 120 minutes | Operations 25% · Internal Audit Plan 15% · Quality 15% · Engagement Results & Monitoring 45% |
CIA Part 1: Internal Audit Fundamentals
Part 1 builds the professional foundation: the purpose and mandate of internal auditing, independence, objectivity, ethics, governance, risk management, controls and fraud risk. EduDelphi teaches the principles first, then applies them to realistic scenarios and close answer choices.
CIA Part 2: Internal Audit Engagement
Part 2 follows an engagement from planning through evidence, analysis, evaluation, findings, supervision and communication. Half of the exam blueprint is engagement planning, so candidates need a strong grasp of objectives, scope, risk assessment and work-programme decisions.
CIA Part 3: Internal Audit Function
Part 3 covers the operation and leadership of the internal audit function, risk-based planning, quality, communicating results and monitoring management action. It tests both technical knowledge and management-level judgement.
Is the 2019 CIA syllabus still current?
No. Candidates taking the CIA examinations in English should prepare against the 2025 syllabus. Older books and question banks may not match the active structure. EduDelphi’s classes, LMS and practice resources are mapped to the current syllabus.
Recommended CIA Study Plan: Around 8–12 Weeks per Part
Experienced candidates may move faster, while professionals managing audit cycles and demanding work schedules may need longer. The same three phases can be adjusted around your target exam date.
Learn the part
Complete the live classes or recorded lectures, read the core notes and use visual summaries to understand each syllabus domain.
Practise by domain
Work through topic questions, review every error and use diagnostics to identify the domains that need more attention.
Complete mocks
Use timed mocks, trainer debriefs and final revision to strengthen speed, judgement and confidence before the exam.
Need a faster plan? Your trainer can help compress the same learning, practice and mock phases around your current knowledge and planned examination date.
A CIA LMS That Helps You Decide What to Study Next
The LMS keeps the course organised and turns practice into a clear revision plan. It supports live, blended and self-study candidates.
Learn clearly
Use recorded lessons, domain notes, mind maps, infographics, flashcards and short revision resources.
Practise properly
Move through topic quizzes, scenario questions, timed mini-mocks and full part-wise mocks.
Find weak areas
Use diagnostics, progress tracking and mock analysis to see where marks are being lost.
Plan revision
Follow a study planner and turn weak-area results into a practical weekly schedule.
Ask for help
Use the AI study assistant for quick navigation and attend live doubt-clearing for trainer-led support.
Prepare for exam day
Review question logic, time management, scaled scoring and the common traps behind plausible answers.
Regional Headquarters Audit Case: A Critical Outsourced Process
A Singapore regional headquarters relies on a service provider for a critical finance process across several countries. Service failures, access-control exceptions and delayed remediation have begun to repeat.
| What learners work through | How faculty guide the decision |
|---|---|
| Set the audit objective and scope; identify the highest risks and stakeholders; select useful evidence and interviews; separate isolated exceptions from systemic issues; write a clear finding and escalation route; plan follow-up and management-action monitoring. | Start with business risk and accountability, not a control label. Test whether evidence supports the condition, cause and impact. Consider whether the issue crosses countries or providers, then decide the communication and follow-up required. CIA questions often test which response is best, first or most appropriate. |

CIA Eligibility Requirements in Singapore
The IIA makes every final eligibility decision. Many candidates can begin the exams before completing the full work-experience requirement, subject to the pathway and current rules.
| Starting point | Exams required | Experience requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Master’s degree or equivalent | Parts 1, 2 and 3 | One year of relevant experience |
| Bachelor’s degree or equivalent | Parts 1, 2 and 3 | Two years of relevant experience |
| Active IAP + master’s | Parts 2 and 3; Part 1 waived | Degree-based CIA experience requirement |
| Active IAP + bachelor’s | Parts 2 and 3; Part 1 waived | Degree-based CIA experience requirement |
| Active IAP without a qualifying degree | Parts 2 and 3; Part 1 waived | Five years of relevant experience* |
| Five years of relevant experience without a degree | Parts 1, 2 and 3 | No additional experience after meeting the entry threshold* |
*For five-year pathways, two of the five years must currently fall within the previous three years. Relevant experience may include internal audit, quality assurance, risk management, compliance, external audit, internal control and other audit or assessment disciplines. Approved candidates generally have three years from programme acceptance to complete the CIA requirements.
How to Become a Certified Internal Auditor in Singapore
Check your route
Review your education, experience and any active professional credentials before starting an IIA application.
Prepare and pass
Study each required part, practise questions and schedule the official examinations through the approved testing process.
Complete certification
Submit the experience and other evidence required by The IIA. After award, maintain the CIA through current annual CPE requirements.
Current maintenance requirement: Practising CIA holders currently require 40 CPE hours annually, including at least 2 hours of ethics training. Non-practising CIA holders currently have a lower 20-hour requirement. Annual renewal and other attestations also apply.
CIA Application and Booking in Singapore
EduDelphi can explain the process, but The IIA and Pearson VUE control every official application, authorisation and appointment step.
Apply in CCMS
Create or access your CCMS account and upload the required identification and education documents.
Complete documentation
IIA Singapore states that the initial documentation step must be completed within 90 days of application.
Receive approval
Once approved, register the individual CIA part you plan to take.
Register the exam
Exam authorisation is normally valid for 180 days or until the programme expires, whichever comes first.
Schedule Pearson VUE
Choose an available authorised Singapore test centre through the live Pearson VUE scheduler.
Change if needed
Pearson VUE currently charges US$75 to change an appointment; changes must be made at least 48 hours before the appointment.
Where is the CIA exam taken in Singapore?
CIA examinations are test-centre only. IIA Singapore lists authorised Pearson VUE locations in Singapore, including Pearson Professional Centers on Cuppage Road at the time of writing. Locations and appointment availability can change, so check the live scheduler before fixing your preparation date.
A 75-day exam-registration extension currently costs US$100, while a one-time 12-month CIA programme extension is US$275 under global pricing. Verify the amount shown in CCMS before payment.
CIA Exam Format, Passing Score, Results and Retakes
| Exam detail | Current position |
|---|---|
| Delivery | Computer-based examinations at authorised Pearson VUE test centres |
| At-home testing | Online proctoring was discontinued in May 2025; candidates use test centres |
| Passing benchmark | 600 on The IIA’s 250–750 scaled-score range |
| Score meaning | 600 is a scaled score, not a raw percentage |
| Official results | For traditional CIA exams from 1 April 2026, one official result is issued within three weeks |
| Retake wait | At least 30 days after an unsuccessful attempt under the current rule |
| Part order | Parts 1, 2 and 3 can be taken in any order |
| Completion window | Three years from programme acceptance under current policy |
Does a 600/750 passing score mean 80%?
No. The IIA converts performance to a scaled reporting range. A score of 600 is the passing standard, but it should not be read as a required raw score of 80%.
Always confirm live policies, identification requirements and appointment availability with The IIA, IIA Singapore and Pearson VUE before booking.

| Public sector and statutory boards | Accountability, governance, stewardship, performance and evidence in highly governed environments. |
| Manufacturing and logistics | Operational risk, inventory, procurement, third parties, business continuity and regional supply-chain controls. |
| Healthcare and listed companies | Compliance, governance, data, stakeholder communication, audit findings and management-action follow-up. |

CIA Course Singapore FAQs
Who awards the CIA certification?
The Institute of Internal Auditors awards the CIA credential. EduDelphi provides examination preparation as an official IIA Learning Partner and does not issue the CIA certification.
Can I study CIA in a classroom in Singapore?
Yes. EduDelphi offers active Singapore classroom batches as well as live online, private, blended, self-study and corporate routes. Ask for the current schedule and available delivery options.
Can I enrol for only one CIA part?
Yes. You can prepare for Part 1, Part 2 or Part 3 separately, or choose the complete three-part programme.
What is included in EduDelphi CIA training?
The standard preparation route includes live teaching, recordings, the full LMS, current-syllabus notes, mind maps, infographics, flashcards, 5,000+ practice resources, multiple mocks, diagnostics, study planners, AI support, trainer access, live doubt-clearing and revision support. Exact inclusions are confirmed in writing.
Is Gleim included?
Gleim CIA Review is available as an optional upgrade. It is not assumed to be part of every package. Your written quotation will state whether Gleim access is included.
What is the current CIA syllabus?
English-language candidates in Singapore use the 2025 CIA syllabus. It is named for the year it became effective and remains the current English-language syllabus in 2026. It is aligned with the Global Internal Audit Standards and replaced the older 2019 structure.
What is the CIA passing score?
The passing benchmark is a scaled score of 600 on The IIA’s 250–750 reporting range. It is not a raw percentage and should not be read as exactly 80% correct.
Can I take the CIA exam online from home?
No. At-home online proctoring was discontinued in May 2025. Candidates schedule computer-based examinations at authorised Pearson VUE test centres, subject to current availability.
When will I receive my CIA result?
For traditional CIA examinations taken from 1 April 2026, The IIA issues one official result within three weeks. The same delayed-result model applies to the Challenge Exam from 1 September 2026.
What happens if I do not pass a CIA part?
The current minimum wait before retaking an unsuccessful CIA examination is 30 days. A new exam registration and the applicable fee are required. Check the current candidate handbook before rebooking.
What are the CIA experience requirements?
A master’s degree route generally requires one year of relevant experience and a bachelor’s route generally requires two. An active IAP waives Part 1, while the remaining experience requirement varies with education. A five-year route is also available without a qualifying degree; two of those five years must currently fall within the previous three years. The IIA makes the final eligibility decision.
Can I begin before completing my work experience?
Many candidates can begin studying and sit examinations before completing the full experience requirement, subject to the current pathway and application rules.
How long does CIA preparation take?
EduDelphi commonly recommends around 8–12 weeks per part. Your schedule may be shorter or longer depending on prior experience, available weekly study time and target exam date.
Are official IIA fees included in EduDelphi tuition?
No, unless a written quotation expressly says otherwise. Official IIA application, membership and exam costs are separate from EduDelphi preparation fees.
Where is the CIA exam taken in Singapore?
CIA examinations are test-centre only. IIA Singapore currently lists authorised Pearson VUE locations in Singapore, including Pearson Professional Centers on Cuppage Road. Check the live Pearson VUE scheduler before booking because appointment availability changes.
What is the CIA Challenge Exam?
It is a one-exam route for selected eligible professionals, including approved accounting-credential holders and active CISA holders. The IIA’s 10+ years experienced-auditor pathway was a 2026 pilot; confirm whether it is currently open before relying on it. The IIA must confirm eligibility for every Challenge route.
Does CIA guarantee a job or salary increase?
No professional certification guarantees employment, promotion or salary. CIA can strengthen professional knowledge and credibility, while outcomes still depend on experience, role, sector and employer needs.
