Which qualification is this?
US CPA, CPA USA and the licensing route
This course prepares candidates for the Uniform CPA Examination, commonly called the US CPA or CPA USA. The examination is part of a state-board licensing route: the correct jurisdiction, academic evaluation, examination credit and experience requirements depend on the board through which you qualify.
That distinction matters for international candidates. EduDelphi helps you understand the preparation route, while the selected U.S. jurisdiction makes the official eligibility and licensing decisions.
Shyam’s planning view: before choosing a review package or exam order, establish the state-board pathway your academic record can support. It avoids expensive changes later in the process.

Career fit before course selection
Who Is US CPA Best Suited For?
The US CPA is most relevant when you want deeper capability in accounting, reporting, assurance, regulation or advisory work. It is not a generic shortcut for every finance career.
01 · Assurance
Audit, controls and assurance professionals
Useful for candidates working with audit evidence, reporting risk, control environments, compliance or assurance engagements.
02 · Reporting
Accounting and reporting professionals
Relevant when your work includes financial statements, close, technical accounting, consolidation, disclosures or finance control.
03 · Advisory
Professionals building an international route
A considered option for people moving toward advisory, transaction support, tax, consulting or senior finance roles with a U.S. accounting connection.
Choose deliberately: if your principal goal is management accounting and FP&A, US CMA may fit better. If you need a broader international accountancy route, ACCA may be the stronger comparison. The right answer starts with the work you want to own.
Start with the official route
US CPA Eligibility in Abu Dhabi: State-Board & Academic Evaluation
There is no single credit-hour rule that applies to every Abu Dhabi candidate. The selected jurisdiction decides its academic, subject-area, evaluation, examination and eventual licensing requirements. A bachelor’s degree alone does not automatically settle eligibility.
120 or 150 credit hours?
Requirements differ by board and can differ between examination eligibility and licence eligibility. Review your transcript against the current rules of the jurisdiction you intend to use.
Evaluation first
International education commonly needs a course-by-course evaluation accepted by the selected board. The right evaluation agency and documents depend on that board.
Reviewed by Shyam Sarrof, CPA (USA), CMA (USA): official CPA route information should always be confirmed with the relevant state board and NASBA before payment or application.
International candidate route
How do you take the US CPA Exam from Abu Dhabi?
International testing is a sequence, not one form. The exact steps vary by jurisdiction, but the usual path is clear.
Choose a jurisdiction
Match your education and intended licence route to the current rules of a participating board.
Complete evaluation
Submit transcripts and documents through the process accepted by that jurisdiction.
Apply for the exam
Receive approval and the Notice to Schedule (NTS) through the applicable official process.
Request international testing
Apply for UAE international administration after you are eligible and have the required NTS.
Schedule with Prometric
Book from the available international testing appointments for your approved examination sections.
Protect your credit plan
Sequence four sections around your board’s current credit-expiry rule and realistic study capacity.
US$390 per section
NASBA currently lists an international administration fee for UAE testing, separate from jurisdiction, examination, evaluation and other official costs.
Do not assume one timeline
CPA Exam credit-period rules are set by the jurisdiction through which you qualify. Confirm the live rule before deciding the order of all four sections.

US CPA Exam Format 2026: 4 Sections, Passing Score & TBSs
How is the CPA Exam scored?
A minimum scaled score of 75 is required on each section. It does not mean 75% of questions were correct, and scores are not curved.
AUD, FAR, REG, BAR and TCP currently use 50% multiple-choice questions and 50% task-based simulations. ISC uses 60% multiple-choice questions and 40% task-based simulations.
Core plus one Discipline
All candidates take AUD, FAR and REG, then choose BAR, ISC or TCP. Your Discipline should reflect background and direction rather than an online claim about the “easiest” section.

BAR: Business Analysis and Reporting
Advanced financial reporting, data analysis, business processes, planning and analytical decision-making.
ISC: Information Systems and Controls

TCP: Tax Compliance and Planning

Which CPA Discipline Should You Choose: BAR, ISC or TCP?
BAR
Usually best aligned with candidates interested in financial analysis, technical reporting and broader accounting or business analysis.
ISC
Usually best aligned with systems, technology controls, cybersecurity, SOC work and IT-assurance interests.
TCP
Usually best aligned with advanced U.S. tax compliance and planning interests.
Time planning
How long does US CPA preparation take in Abu Dhabi?
Many working professionals plan approximately six to twelve months for study and exams, depending on evaluation timing, prior knowledge, weekly study capacity, exam availability and the board’s credit-period rule. The 160+ guided hours answer a different question from the total calendar time needed to complete all sections.
Use the global US CPA duration guide to plan the route in more detail.
Plan four separate decisions
1. Eligibility: board and evaluation.
2. Study: live, hybrid or self-paced route.
3. Examination: Core, Discipline and international schedule.
4. Licence: experience and the selected jurisdiction’s remaining requirements.

Career relevance, not a promise
US CPA Career Paths in Abu Dhabi & UAE
US CPA knowledge can strengthen your readiness for accounting, reporting, audit, controls, advisory and finance-leadership work. The qualification does not guarantee a job, promotion or salary increase; career outcomes also depend on experience, employer needs, market conditions and the jurisdiction in which you are licensed.
In practice, candidates make the strongest use of CPA progress when they can connect the syllabus to work: closing and reviewing accounts, resolving audit evidence, analysing transactions, documenting controls or explaining a reporting decision.
Shyam’s field perspective: candidates tend to get more value when they pair exam preparation with assignments that expand their judgement and responsibility, rather than treating the CPA as a standalone line on a CV.
