CCSP exam format, experience and certification route
ISC2 controls the official CCSP process. Training can begin before your experience is complete, but full certification has separate experience and application requirements.
100-150 CAT items
Multiple-choice and advanced item types over three hours.
700 scaled score
Current passing score on ISC2’s 1000-point scale, not a direct percentage.
Pearson VUE
Current official CCSP exams are scheduled through Pearson VUE test centres.
Full CCSP certification
ISC2 currently requires five cumulative years of IT experience, including three years in cybersecurity and one year in one or more current CCSP domains.
- A relevant post-secondary degree or CSA CCSK may waive one year only.
- An active CISSP can satisfy the full CCSP experience requirement.
- Passers without the experience may become an Associate of ISC2 and have six years to earn it.
- Complete the post-exam certification or Associate application and endorsement process within nine months.

Exam-purchase validity: a standard ISC2 exam purchase must currently be scheduled and administered within 365 days.
Peace of Mind option: ISC2 currently offers an eligible two-attempt purchase option. Both attempts must fit within 180 days, with a 30-day wait between attempts.
