How to get ACCA qualification after 12th grade?
To get started on the ACCA qualification, candidates will first have to meet the ACCA qualification requirements. This means candidates must gain a minimum of 65% in English and Mathematics/Accounts and over 50% in other subjects in their 10+2 exams or get 2 A-levels and 3 GCSEs in 5 separate subjects but including Mathematics and English. However, even if candidates do not meet the minimum educational requirements, they can still begin their ACCA journey by first completing the foundation-level courses provided by ACCA. 1. Foundation Level
The ACCA provides Foundations in Accountancy (FIA), a set of courses for those who are just beginning their journey into the finance and accounting fields or for those who do not meet the ACCA qualification requirements. These courses do not have any educational entry requirements and so are perfect for those who wish to pursue their ACCA after 12th science or in any other field. They can be completed within 12-18 months and contain several certificates available to candidates as they pursue and pass the different levels of the Foundation courses. Those individuals without any prior knowledge of finance are advised to start with the ACCA Diploma in Financial and Management Accounting (RQF Level 2) and then proceed to RQF Levels 3 and 4. Another way for candidates to start their ACCA journey is to gain their Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) Qualification after passing the necessary exams and meeting the work experience requirements. In addition to the above exams, candidates will also have to complete the mandatory Foundations in Professionalism course before the end of their studies. Once candidates have completed their foundational courses and passed the exams, they are then exempt from the ACCA Applied Knowledge exams and can move straightaway to the Applied Skills ACCA exams.
2. ACCA Applied Knowledge exams.
In case candidates do meet the minimum educational qualifications of the ACCA, they will begin their journey towards gaining the ACCA certification here. The Applied Knowledge section of the ACCA consists of 3 exams: Business and Technology, Management Accounting, and Financial Accounting. Once candidates have completed these 3 exams and passed them, they can then move to the Applied Skills stage. In case candidates have completed and passed their foundation level courses or gained the CAT qualification, they are directly applicable to sit the ACCA Applied Skills exams without needing to complete the Applied Knowledge module.
3. ACCA Applied Skills exams.
The ACCA Applied Skills exams consist of 6 exams. These are Corporate and Business Law, Performance Management, Taxation, Financial Reporting, Audit and Assurance, and Financial Management. Although the Ethics and Professional Skills module is compulsory and can be achieved any time after the ACCA Applied Knowledge exams, candidates are advised to complete it at this stage to help them in their further Strategic Professional level studies. Once candidates have completed and passed these exams, they are awarded the Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business and can then proceed to the Strategic Professional ACCA exams.
4. ACCA Strategic Professional exams
The ACCA Strategic Professional exams consist of 2 essential exams plus 2 other exams from 4 different choices. The essential exams include Strategic Business Leader and Strategic Business Reporting. Candidates must then choose 2 exams from 4 different options to complete all Strategic Professional exams. Once candidates have completed and passed all the ACCA exams as well as the Ethics and Professional Skills module, they will then have to ensure that they meet all the work experience requirements of the ACCA before they can apply for the ACCA accreditation. Candidates will need 3 years of practical experience which can be achieved either while pursuing the ACCA degree or after. In addition to this, ACCA also provides certain exemptions for candidates depending on their educational qualifications. These exemptions are given for up to 9 papers in the Applied Knowledge and Skills module of the ACCA degree.
