Global trade finance preparation
CTFP Course: Certified Trade Finance Professional Training
Build advanced, end-to-end trade finance judgment through live expert training, guided case discussion, exam strategy, mock practice and an AI-powered revision system designed around a demanding professional schedule.
The advanced route
Move from instrument knowledge to broader trade-finance judgment
The Certified Trade Finance Professional route is designed for experienced practitioners who need to connect documentary credits, guarantees, working capital, export finance, supply-chain finance, product thinking and trade operations into one commercial picture.
It is a serious professional commitment, not a short awareness course. Our preparation adds a structured human layer: live instruction, study sequencing, case-led discussion, mock practice and support that helps you interpret complex material while staying productive at work.

Who this is for
A route for professionals already close to real trade decisions
CTFP preparation is strongest when you can connect the framework to transactions, client needs, documentation risk, financing choices or operational decisions you already see at work.
Banking and transaction teams
Broaden the technical picture
For trade finance officers, product managers, relationship managers, documentary-credit specialists, guarantee teams and trade operations professionals who want wider commercial and product fluency.
Corporate and treasury teams
Understand the financing choices
For treasury, working-capital, import-export, procurement-finance and commercial professionals who need to assess trade solutions alongside cash, counterparty, documentation and delivery risk.
Risk, legal and advisory
Read transactions with context
For legal, compliance, risk, audit and advisory professionals supporting cross-border trade, guarantees, sanctions-sensitive documentation or controls over trade processes.
Route check matters. Candidates with substantial trade-finance experience, or a focused prior credential such as CITF, CDCS or CSDG, are often better placed to get full value from a broad advanced programme. We will discuss your profile before recommending a study route.
A flexible study system
Preparation that respects the pace of trade and transaction work
The learning route is designed for professionals who have to stay current with clients, documents, approvals, exceptions and operational pressure while they prepare.
Trainer-led classes
Live online sessions turn technical concepts into practical decisions around trade products, risk, documentation, financing and client conversations.
AI-powered EduDelphi LMS
Use recordings, structured notes, mind maps, infographics, explainers, revision summaries and organised resources when your schedule is not predictable.
Mocks and question practice
Build exam readiness through question-bank practice, mock tests, feedback discussions, pacing methods and a focused exam strategy.
Case-study learning
Use realistic cross-border scenarios to connect rules, commercial rationale, counterparties, instruments, evidence and operational consequences.
Global delivery choices
Choose a live global cohort, guided self-paced route, one-to-one discussion or corporate format based on your time zone and work pattern.
Decision and exam guidance

CTFP curriculum
A learning map built around the full trade-finance ecosystem
The official pathway is structured around five core areas and four elective specialisations. We use that structure to make your preparation systematic, applied and easier to sequence around a full-time role.
Five core areas
Build the broad technical base
- Advanced working capital for trade.
- Advanced documentary credits.
- Advanced guarantees.
- Export finance.
- Advanced supply-chain finance.
Four electives
Shape the route around your role
- Digital trade finance and fintechs.
- Advanced standby letters of credit.
- Managing trade sales and products.
- Managing trade operations.
- Advanced commodity finance.
The exact elective combination should follow your current responsibilities and the type of trade-finance work you want to own next.

How we teach it
From rule recall to transaction reasoning
Each preparation block asks the practical questions professionals face: what is the commercial objective, what instrument fits, where can risk sit, what should be checked, what evidence matters, and how does a decision affect the client, bank or corporate?
- Documentary-credit and guarantee workflows.
- Working-capital and supply-chain-finance decisions.
- Export-finance structures and risk allocation.
- Trade product, sales and operations perspectives.
- Case analysis, revision planning and mock debriefs.
Assessment and certification
Know the official route before you commit to a study plan
The official CTFP pathway involves completion of the required learning components before a final online assessment. The current published route includes more than 50 hours of learning, a 60-minute live-proctored multiple-choice assessment and a 70% pass mark.
CTFP is an advanced certification offered through ICC Academy. EduDelphi provides independent training and preparation support; official registration, credential decisions, policies and certification-side costs are handled separately through the awarding body.
Review your fit
Discuss experience, existing credentials, job responsibilities and the role you want to prepare for.
Build your study route
Choose cohort, self-paced or corporate support, then sequence live sessions, case work, recordings and mocks.
Prepare with evidence
Use question practice, mock debriefs and targeted revision to convert a wide syllabus into confident judgment.
Confirm official steps
Review current registration, timing, assessment and fee requirements directly through the official source before payment.
Corporate CTFP training
Develop a shared trade-finance language across your team
Trade finance breaks down when teams understand their own functional step but not the commercial, operational, documentary and risk consequences around it. A private CTFP preparation cohort can help build a more connected view across the people who originate, structure, process, monitor and advise on cross-border transactions.
- Private global cohorts for banks, corporates, treasury teams, trade operations and legal or compliance functions.
- Case discussion shaped around the organisation’s product mix, operating realities and capability priorities.
- Flexible scheduling for cross-border teams, including live delivery, recorded support and focused revision checkpoints.
- Manager-level progress discussions and a paced pathway for teams preparing around operational calendars.

Choose the right route
CTFP is broad by design. Other trade-finance credentials go deeper in one area.
The right qualification follows the work you want to be trusted with. Use CTFP for breadth; choose a specialist route when the role is defined by a particular instrument, rulebook or risk domain.
