What happens after Day 5?

After the official PECB certification examination, candidates can apply for the PECB credential level that matches their documented professional and ISMS project experience. Passing the exam alone does not automatically grant the full Lead Implementer credential.

PECB currently lists five years of professional experience, including two years in information security management, plus 300 hours of ISMS project activities for the Lead Implementer level. Provisional and Implementer credential levels have different thresholds.

The official PECB learning flow follows an implementation lifecycle and makes the examination timing explicit.

Day 1: ISO/IEC 27001 and initiation of an ISMS implementation
Define ISMS concepts, context, scope, interested parties, leadership and implementation initiation. Applied output: ISMS initiation and scope brief.
Day 2: Implementation plan of an ISMS
Plan risk assessment and treatment, objectives, resources, communication, documented information and implementation responsibilities. Applied output: risk-treatment and implementation plan.
Day 3: Implementation of an ISMS
Connect controls, the Statement of Applicability, operational planning, ownership, awareness and implementation evidence. Applied output: control and SoA working pack.
Day 4: Monitoring, continual improvement and certification-audit preparation
Cover monitoring, measurement, internal audit, management review, nonconformity, corrective action and certification readiness. Applied output: performance and readiness pack.
Day 5: Final clarification and PECB certification examination
Complete final clarification and exam readiness, followed by the official PECB certification examination according to the active course schedule. Applied output: exam-readiness and credential-path checklist.
